Ocean Fest
rescheduled
for
2010

The City is unable to give me an exact construction schedule, but has indicated that there is a high probability that construction at the show site will be underway during the scheduled dates of Ocean Fest. Based on this fact, and the lack of other suitable venues, I feel I have no alternative but to cancel this year's event and reschedule for April 16, 17 & 18, 2010.

Ocean Fest is scheduled for April 17, 18 and 19, 2009 will take place in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. This event is sponsored by the Greater Ft. Lauderdale-Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and produced by Neal Watson Productions, Inc.

In addition to boasting the most comprehensive artificial reef system in the United States, Broward County and Ft. Lauderdale have one of the only living reefs in the Continental United States that is accessible from shore. Ft. Lauderdale is world reknown for it's beaches and waterways, as well as a youthful population that enjoys an active lifestyle.

Join us as we celebrate diving and adventure sports in this fabulous outdoor location.

Events

This event will feature over 150 dive and adventure sports related exhibits under giant tents at the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. In addition to the dive exhibits, there will be food vendors, beverage vendors, music, treasure hunts, free seminars and thousands of dollars in prizes and raffles!

In an effort to introduce the sport to new participants, there will be scuba introductory courses taught at the DEMA Pool. An underwater treasure hunt will be held on Saturday for dive boats, and again on Sunday for shore diving. Thousands of dollars in prizes will be given away. The main prize will be a trip on an Aggressor Liveaboard.

A portion of the proceeds from Ocean Festival will benefit numerous non-profit and environmental organizations.
